Services Offered:

Two residential homes serving Mentally Disabled, Developmentally Disabled population.
Each home is licensed for 8.

Group homes and Semi-supervised Apartments.

Homes are divided by population served:
  Monroe House program works on basic living skills, socialization skills, and behavior management.
Cedar House program is a transitional program from group home living to a less restrictive setting. Close individual instruction with emphasis on independent living skills, community awareness and support, and transition services.

Semi-supervised apartment living program serves Mentally Ill, in addition to Mentally Disabled and Developmentally Disabled.

Transportation is available.

Admission Requirements:

Applicant should be able to take care of minimal basic needs.

All applicants are screened by admissions committee.

Applicant to qualify for apartment living must agree to be involved in at least 30 hours per week with employment, occupational training, education and/or volunteer work.

Southwest Iowa Residential Facility also operates a motel in Creston, Iowa where residents have hands-on work experience.
